I don't think there's ever a time where I step back and say I wish I was something different. I'm doing what I love to do.
I think every athlete will tell you no matter what sport you're in, when you train so hard and when you care so much about doing what you do, there's a little bit of nerves that come with that. But nerves that won't prevent you form performing, nerves that, hopefully, allow you to be that much more motivated and inspired to do well.
I think that everyone has an equal right to play and I think we've been supportive of that. With the Olympics and the controversy around that I think those decisions and those laws aren't necessarily something that I agree with personally ... their laws and their views.
I promise to play for the logo on the front, not the name on the back
Dreams are so important. You need to have big goals and expect a lot of yourself but you have to enjoy the ride too.
You'd have to ask him, honestly. The puck was there and I just went toward it.
You can't give up. You've got to keep battling to the end. Winning is a habit. You can't accept losing. Losing is a bad habit to accept.
The first two periods it wasn't there, I don't know why. I was trying to create things but there were so many power plays, it's tough to get a feel for the puck and get your legs under you. But there's no excuses. I have to find a way to be ready. Obviously I didn't have the same jump but I don't expect myself to come in here and get three goals every night. It's not going to be a perfect night every time.
The chances were there for us. But you fall behind like that and you don't give yourself a chance to win.
The first period was kind of rough, but after that, we started working. We just needed to play more desperate.
You want to stay away from that, ... I've had a lot of chances, and I haven't been able to put a few in, but they're going to come. I've hit some posts, and it's a matter of making sure when I do have chances, I bear down.
You can't afford to go out there and watch too much, ... If you get caught watching, you're not going to get to the puck and not going to make good plays.
The lead is important, especially at home. We stressed that. It was definitely nice to get the lead.
I think that happens to everyone. I'm sure guys get mad and go after guys from time to time and might want to hurt them, and then later they feel they shouldn't have done that, but that's just the nature of the game.
