came confidence
We came in with all the confidence in the world we could get this thing done.
bad both close coming dropped felt good last mediocre ourselves top tournament track
Our whole thing was this is going to be a two-game tournament so we can get ourselves going again. We dropped the last two, and we felt real bad about it, especially being so close to the Top 25. Now, we got Dayton coming in here, GW coming in here. Both of them are real good teams. We didn't want to just get back on track with some mediocre teams. We have to get on track with a really good squad.
attribute came defensive fire flat lack offensive pop
We just came out with a lack of energy. We didn't have that pop that we usually do on the defensive end and on the offensive end. I don't know what to attribute it to. We can't come out flat like that. We have to come out with that fire from the get-go.
everybody expected guys happy jumping last walk
I was the last one to walk in, and I expected everybody to be jumping around. We were happy about our performance, but guys were like, 'Next game.' We have to keep working.
brian brings everybody guy level losing scrap step
We can't play like (we did), especially when you're losing a guy like Brian who brings so much to the table. You really have to scrap and claw for everything. Everybody had to step up and play a whole different level of energy, and we just didn't have it.
start stay sure work
We work and work and work at it. Eventually, it will start going our way. You can't just not take shots. There's no way we'll win. We'll stay with it, and I'm pretty sure it will start going down for us.
feeling good grow happy huge next nice performing ready starting
We're so used to going in there and being rowdy and feeling good after wins. But we're starting to get used to performing well on the road. We're starting to grow up. It's nice to see. We were still happy about the win, because it's a huge win. We have to refocus and get ready for the next big game.
brian couple defensive erase game help job mistakes sit
We just have to do a better job defensively. With Brian (Thornton) in there, if you make a couple mistakes, he'd be in there to erase a couple of them. Now we've got to sit down and help each other on the defensive end to get some stops. That's why the game was so close.
game mode single win
We're in the mode where it's like one game at a time. You have to win every single one of them. What are you going to do, quit? You have to keep working and fighting.
credit great job saint shots
I give all the credit to Saint Louis. They did a great job contesting our shots and being real physical.
change good knock talented
He's a really good player. He can change speeds, and he can knock down the 3 or get to the basket. He's really a talented player.
class great plays saying
He has no class whatsoever. He's a great player. He made some great plays down the stretch. But the things he was saying were ridiculous.
believe dream dug hung name ourselves seems words
I can't even put it into words right now. It seems like it's all like a dream right now. The way things were going for us, it was like this season's a wrap. It's over. And we just dug ourselves out of it, hung together. Now, we're going to get our name called (today). I can't believe it.
acting blew everybody far game guys knew looked opportunity plan pull sitting stay
Everyone was sitting around acting like we blew it. Everybody was like, 'Oh my God. We blew our opportunity to win.' But I looked at the guys and said, 'Come on, we have to stay with it. There's no way we come this far to have them take it from us.' We knew our game plan was going to pull us through. That's what happened.
