I always say, it doesn't matter how busy I am and how early in the morning it is. The one thing I can always manage to get energy for is to see my kid (Ben) play hockey. I love my job as prime minister, but if you could be a hockey player, I mean, what could be better than that?
I always took the view and still take the view that we weren't going to pressure Peter, that this was an important decision, he should take some time to make it.
I'd anticipated the Liberals would want to delay the election at least until the spring, if not longer, ... But look, if there's a necessity to have a fall election and the NDP ceases to prop up the government, that could still happen.

We know that governing in a minority is not going to be easy. But we have our legislative and governmental priorities and we will work together with others to find shared goals and common ideas.
Even the United States, an allied government, is currently making incursions into our territorial waters without even notifying us, let alone seeking permission.

In the end it will join out of the necessity created by a pattern of uncertainty and indecision. It will not join as a leader but unnoticed at the back of the parade.
We all know that I would have preferred an election by now. We didn't have one,
Tonight friends, our great country has voted for change, and Canadians have asked our party to take the lead in delivering that change.
We had a good sleep, we're all excited and we're all feeling pretty upbeat, as you can imagine ... to start rebuilding this great country of ours.
We had a good sleep. The family's excited. We're all feeling pretty upbeat, as you can imagine.
