Sylvester Croom, Jr.is an American football coach. He is currently the running backs coach for the NFL's Tennessee Titans. He was the head coach at Mississippi State University from 2004 to 2008, and the first African American head football coach in the Southeastern Conference. We were horrible. It was downright awful. I don't know how good we are, but we're a whole lot better than we were last year.

Special teams have been good all the time. We just had a calamity in one game. Like anything else, we just need to be poised in crucial situations.

They've got good schemes and they're well-coached and they play hard. But some of those little things may catch up with them at some point.

I'm disappointed that the players have put themselves in a very embarrassing situation and did not use good judgment. I'm just hopeful that lessons have been learned. As these young men move into mature adulthood ... they must learn to either defuse the situation or walk away from it.

As far as I am concerned they are just as good as Southern Cal last year. I don't see a weakness on their team right now even though they lost the game the other night.

He is an intense competitor and he has a knack for making plays, even turning his mistakes into positives. I think he'll get even better as time goes on.

Sometimes we didn't play smart, and we had penalties. Sometimes we got penalties after the play was over. I have to get that corrected; that's on me.
