Poway is a powerhouse and they work really hard and they deserve all of the credit. But it's time for other wrestlers from our area to step up. If we (as a section) have a great showing at state, it will get the word out.

I look at the role models I had when I was a sophomore and what a great year that was for me. Those guys always watched out for me and I was constantly looking to them for leadership. Now, it's up to me to give that same experience to the younger kids. I have to treat them with respect and let them know how important wrestling is going to be to them not just in high school but for the rest of their life.

This has been a really long road. But I always believed that if I kept working hard I would be able to get back.
edge experience gained gaining great hopefully last meet showing state year
Being at the state meet last year was all about gaining experience. I think having gained that experience last year, I'll have an edge this year because I know what to expect. Hopefully I can have another great showing and I'll be able to place.

I felt strong going into the third. I felt like I was in good shape and if I kept going strong I'd come out on top.
