baseball finish finishes home regardless schedule sets trip
We'll know where we are by the end of this trip and then we'll still have to go home and finish strong. A lot can happen, but the way the schedule sets up, regardless of how this trip finishes up, we still have a lot of baseball to play.
affect short
You'd like to have all your players. We're short and have to go with what we've got. I don't know how this will affect us.
ahead capitalize gonna happen teams
You'd like to capitalize on the teams ahead of you, but it's not like it's just gonna happen that way all the time.
possible satisfied three win
We'd like to win all the time, but it's not possible all the time. We'll get the two out of the three and be satisfied and go on the road.
believe finish games hard playing spring worked
We worked hard this year, and we want to finish up strong, and that's what we're going to do. I don't believe in playing major-league games to just look at people. That's what spring training's for.
indoors work
We want to just take him slow, that's all. Pedro does a lot of his work indoors anyway.
athletic bit great hands quick watched
We'll see how it goes. But I like his body. He's got a great athletic body, of course. I watched him a little bit in BP, and he's got quick hands and he's got speed.
anticipate feeling feels
We'll see how he feels and go from there. He's feeling pretty good. I don't anticipate any setbacks.
coming early season shaky since steady vintage
Tommy was outstanding, vintage Glavine. He's been coming on steady for us since the early season shaky starts.
ball jason pitches threw
Tommy threw the ball well again, but Jason Schmidt pitched well, too. He made the pitches when he had to.
anyone becoming david great pitchers question surprise
There is little question about David becoming a great player. But it will be interesting to see how he adjusts this year. He won't be a surprise to anyone anymore. The pitchers know about him, and they will make adjustments. I want to see how he adjusts.
miss
We're going to miss (Mark) Mulder, ... That's good, I guess, huh?
dictate knows mound needs ready schedules wants whatever
We're going to let Pedro pretty much dictate when he's ready to get on the mound or do whatever he wants to do. We're going to let him take his time. He's a veteran. He knows what he needs to do. We don't need to put any schedules on him because that can always change.
playing until
We're going to keep playing until the end,
