bitter man matter might scared
A man is not scared of the 'Past' i.e. bygone days, no matter how bitter it might have been.
appearance image man nature reality
Man is but the Image of God. Even Nature is but an appearance of God; the reality is He alone.
condemned serve stick
No one should be condemned as trash; even a little stick can serve as a toothpick!
destined forgotten lost merge people pilgrim precious reach time wander wasting
Every being is a pilgrim destined to reach Madhava and merge in Him; but most people have forgotten the road; they wander like lost children, wasting precious time in the by-paths.
duty ensure guidance keeps learned means noble people proper tribe
It is the duty of learned ones to ensure that the tribe of noble people keeps on growing. This they can do by means of proper guidance and tutelage.
beings call carries existing full highest jar placed time
A full jar has been placed upon Time; him, verily, we see existing in many forms. He carries away all these beings (worlds); they call him Time in the highest heaven.
conqueror gain victory
Gain is deposited in my right hand, victory in my left. Let me become a conqueror of cattle, horses, wealth, and gold!
glories god humble shall sing
Sing the Glories of God each and every day; your afflictions shall be dispelled, and you shall be saved, my humble friend.
arms clinging run strength yourselves
O sun, take away their sight; O rays, run after them; clinging to their feet, fasten yourselves upon them, when the strength of their arms is gone!
mind renounce selfish surrender totally wealth
I surrender my mind to Him; I place my wealth before Him. I totally renounce my selfish ways.
arrow arrows badly fall lay shall unable vital weapons
May their weapons fall from their (hands), may they be unable to lay the arrow on (the bow)! And then (our) arrows shall smite them, badly frightened, in their vital members!
arrow born enter male man months shall son ten thy womb
Into thy womb shall enter a male germ, as an arrow into a quiver! May a man be born there, a son ten months old!
happiness hot roaming shade standing value
Happiness will not come from happiness; but only from pain. We know the value of standing in shade only after roaming in the hot day sun.
