Barry Lee Alvarezis a former American football coach who is currently the athletic director at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He served as the head football coach at Wisconsin for 16 seasons, from 1990 to 2005, compiling a career college football record of 118–73–4. You have to correct mistakes and just show where we had breakdowns. A lot of it was communication. That's something that we'll have to correct and go back to fundamentals. You've got a totally different game plan this week and a different type of team that you're defending.

I think his speed really showed up today. A couple of those runs their defense had things cornered, it looked like they had the right leverage. He just outran everybody to the end zone.

I think his president wanted to keep it confidential and go through the process without it being a public issue. But he was offered the job officially yesterday and accepted and contacted me right away.
