figuring guy hard hit looked mixed pitches sure time
We had a hard time figuring Hernandez out. He sure looked like the same guy as in '98. He mixed his pitches up and hit spots.
build shut win
We wanted to build on that win. We didn't want to get shut out 1-0 after that big win Saturday.
against both fun game gun guys roger threw top type
Both guys pitched great. That's the type of game we all expected. Young gun Jake did what we needed, threw zeros up there, because Roger was on top of his game. That's a fun game to watch, the young guy going against one of the best.
break brian call dirty double playing trying west
Brian was trying to break up the double play. He's not playing dirty there. West got the call right.
break dirty double playing trying
Brian's not playing dirty there. He's just trying to break up the double play.
arm brian remember start time
Brian never had any arm trouble. He made every start the whole time he was here. I don't remember him having any soreness.
great saved stick
Breslow did a great job. He saved us. Once Oxspring couldn't go, we had to stick with him.
beat bottom came hard line steal
Bottom line is we didn't play well. I thought we beat ourselves. Then we battled hard to steal it and we came up short.
certainly determined difficult pitching threw
Braz threw well. We haven't determined what the roster is yet, but he certainly is pitching very well and making it difficult on what we're going to do here.
both guys
Both those guys have had it going offensively. They're a big part of our ballclub.
bat sean
At that point, Sean was our left-handed bat off the bench,
age-and-aging basis catch demanding regular takes toll wear
At this age, I can't wear him into the ground. It's just too demanding a position. When you catch as much as he has over the years, it takes a toll on you. He can't do the things on a regular basis that he used to.
ball great opportunity starter
We had a great opportunity there, and (Cardinals starter Mark) Mulder, he got out of it, ... We're just not cashing in at this point. The double-play ball killed us.
couple guys
We have a couple of guys down now,
