against balls coming gets hard hit tough
Lowe was tough on us today. He is coming off some well-pitched games, and we didn't hit that many balls hard early. A sinkerballer gets groundballs, and that's what he has been able to do against us.
attacks heard heart rick silent
When I heard about Doug, I immediately thought of Rick and my father. No question, heart attacks are the silent killer.
future
I wouldn't even want to think about where we'd be without him. And I don't want to ever think about what it'd be like in the future without him.
I would say he's out. Not 100 percent, but 99. I don't see Jake pitching.
great needed outing
We needed a great outing today, and we got it.
pinch start
Obviously, we'd like to start getting some pinch hits.
couple looking strength
Obviously, we're looking at at least a couple of months. They feel they can get his strength back before the end of the season.
lacking
One thing we are lacking is power, ... It would be big if we could get him going.
good gotten guys looks lost rut
One thing you want to get is good swings. It looks like we have gotten a little defensive. I think some guys have lost some confidence. For us to be in a rut this long, it shouldn't happen.
came easier life missing needed sure
We needed a big hit, we have been missing it. He came through big time. It sure makes life easier when you get a big hit.
active good open ryan
There's a good possibility Ryan won't be on the active roster when we open the season.
best bit close disabled good start time
There's a good possibility he may go on the disabled list. We want him real close if not 100 percent. It's the best thing for him and the club. We feel like we can give him a little bit of time right now if he does start on the disabled list.
finishing nice pride rest talk
There's some pride here, ... We wanted to get that game. There's been a lot of talk about not finishing over .500. It'd be nice to play well the rest of the way.
case comfort depth gives insurance knows nice
There's going to be a little more sense of comfort with him now. He knows this club, he knows the city, so it's nice to have him on the bench. He gives us depth and insurance in case something happens.
