aggressive created forced react
They were the more aggressive team. They created opportunities for themselves. And we were forced to react to them all night.
second
I started him in the second half, that's how it works. If you produce, you play.
agree beat best both chance common conference crop difficult easily except games lost number ourselves respect team three tournament train treat understand win
The common train of thought is that it's very difficult to beat a team three times in one year. I would agree with that, except in the conference tournament there's a number of these things that crop up. I think the way we go into it to give ourselves the best chance to win is to understand that we easily could have lost both games to them and that because of that, we need to treat them with the respect that they deserve.
coach gonna good kid miss shots since
The kid is a very good shooter, as good as I've recruited since I've been a coach here. He's gonna miss some shots but you have to go with him.
ended guys played scramble strange
You've got to give the guys who played a lot of credit. We ended up having to scramble and play some of those other guys at strange positions.
fell game last strange
The last game was a real strange game. We were up big early, they got back in it, we were up right before the half, we fell asleep, we got down, they get right back. We want to get back on the right track, get back to .500 in the league.
asleep fall good plays point position spot tough work
I think you have to work on him in every possession. The kid's a tough player, he's a good player. If you put yourself in a position that you fall asleep on him at any point during the game, you're going to put him in a spot that he can make plays -- and he's good at making plays.
came drive guys last ncaa short ton
I think you can overanalyze these things to where you're going to drive yourself nuts. The last two years we had a ton of guys who had NCAA experience, and we came up short in the first-round games.
couple critical defense defensive error guard guy hits leave margin playing second
I think the defense is playing hard. But still, our margin for error is not that great. There are still defensive breakdowns. In the second half, we don't guard a couple of screens, leave a guy and he hits a 3 at a critical time.
allow clearly guy horn liked running soon square tough turn
It was a tough make, but it was clearly after the horn went off. We did get it up there pretty quickly. I think by the guy running up on him, it didn't allow him to turn and square as soon as he would've liked to.
based deserving game home last season type
Gardner had the type of last home game you'd like to have. It's very deserving based on the type of season he's had.
anybody conviction determined guy guys playing purpose senior
I think he is playing with as much purpose and conviction as any guy I've had in their senior year. There's been guys that have been more talented, but I don't know if I've had anybody as determined to try to play as well as he's been.
game played playing schedule tough
I think it will be significantly different. I think they're playing way better. They've played a very tough schedule and improved. I think it's going to be a much harder-fought game this time.
best chance coach difference group hardest kids plays stays trying whatever win
There's not a whole lot of difference between any of the teams. I think the group of kids that plays the hardest and stays into whatever their coach is trying to do has the best chance to win it.
