We always prepare for the worst. You can't assume somebody's going to be there, then all of a sudden he's not. You plan for this and for that. We'll prepare for the worst-case scenario and if it doesn't go that way, then we've gained a player or two.

We picked a guy that can make a more immediate impact to the success of our football team now than anybody we would have picked in the first round. There wasn't anybody in the first round who could come in and do for us what Trent Green can do for us. That's a fact.

Trent only ended up playing 56 snaps this (preseason). We would have liked to have him play 75 to 85 snaps with the work he missed only practicing once a day, ... We know our players so well, especially the kids that have been around. Least likely normally to have a problem is the kicker. It isn't always their fault, but automatically it's their name because nobody else knows anybody else that was involved.

We'll have a plan each week. Everybody knows it's not ideal for either guy, but they were both pretty darn fresh late in the game. It was impressive.

You'd like to believe we haven't lost much of what we had. But you still have to prove it. Whatever we did last year doesn't count, doesn't make a darn bit of difference. It's what you do now. With our approach and the way we run the offense in the preseason games, we make it a little tougher on ourselves.
