assistant assistants best coaches compete football league maybe national owners paid pay supposed time
It's about time that assistant coaches got paid like that. Those owners that are complaining could pay their assistants like that, but they don't. The National Football League is supposed to be the best of the best. If you can't compete with the best of the best, maybe you shouldn't be in it.
rather win winning
I'd rather win them. Winning is more fun.
alert aware bad best certain common fans football good hide job kansas league national players problem stay sure
I think we do ... as good as the best job in the National Football League of making sure players are aware of their vulnerability, their profile. There's no place to hide in Kansas City. Our fans know our players. (We tell players) to use common sense and to be aware of the problem areas. Stay out of the bad areas. Be alert for certain things.
living people quote run wrote
I don't know who wrote that, but it's bull. You can quote me on that. Just like I was run out of St. Louis, that's ... people make a living on speculation. They're an embarrassment to the media.
bailey champ harder
I think we can play better than that. I think we can play harder than that. I don't know if Champ Bailey said that to evaluate.
battery equipment people tests
He's going through a battery of tests. Some of these tests aren't just five-minute deals, ... They take sophisticated equipment and sophisticated people to administer. We'll know a lot better tomorrow.
players practice
Now the players are going to say we don't need to practice on Thursday.
battle field helped injury lowest pick point terrible time watched willing
I've been with him through the lowest time of his career. I've helped him come off the field with a terrible injury and I've watched him battle back to the point where you're willing to give up a first-round pick to watch him play again.
concerned driving gear high jump passing second sudden
I'm concerned about our passing attack, ... I'm concerned about being able to all of the sudden jump in high gear when we've been driving in second gear.
felt hard hard-work last remember stress work
I remember how I felt after the last play. It made all the stress and the hard work worthwhile.
committed example older player totally tremendous worked workouts
You could take every player on our roster and put them through his workouts and they would all play longer. He didn't get older and work less. He got older and worked harder. That's what enabled him to play so long. To me, he's a tremendous example of what you can do if you're totally committed to doing something.
last won
Last year, we wouldn't have won tonight's game.
football
I think they've demonstrated that they are a playoff-caliber football team.
football needed time
I think they've demonstrated that they are a playoff-caliber football team. We just didn't get some things done that we had to get done at the time we needed to get them done.
