I'm a big guy, but he's just a lot bigger than me. He's big, really big. It was a learning experience for me. Really, it was my first time guarding him, and I have to learn how to guard him better.
I'm very surprised that Iverson didn't make it. I think he was one of the best leaders the team had in the Olympics, but I think what they're trying to do for the Olympic team is get a group of guys that's willing to play team ball. I'm not saying that Iverson isn't like that, but I think they're doing a youth movement for the Olympics. I think the older legs are getting brittle, so they might need some young fresh legs out there.
I really wanted this game because we were playing Detroit and because we really let a win slip away against Milwaukee (on Wednesday).
Grant came out tonight and knew we needed a win. We needed him offensively and he stepped up.
We just came out slow. We came out with the energy that we needed in the second half, but we didn't come out like we were ready to play tonight. We can't do that if we want to win.
You really can't turn the ball over against anybody, and if you do you'll get burned. It's not just Detroit. It's every game that we play that we have to minimize the turnovers.
The first half, they took our hearts. We just came back and got our hearts back. We fought so hard to get back into the game. Marshall hit the shot at the end of the game ... we were supposed to get that win.
He knows when it's crunch time, he's going to get the ball and do what he needs for his team to win. He's the MVP.
I don't need to be like, 'Hey, throw me the ball.' But I guess I do need to put some bass in my voice. One of the things that coach Hill says is that he needs me to be more aggressive to get the ball.
I've got some work to do. We all do. We've got some time. This will be a good team. We've just got to get it all together.
He's a tough guy to guard. Sometimes you can't do anything about him scoring. You just have to run back down the court.
I know you can't please everybody; you can't make everybody happy, but just getting that perception that I don't care about basketball and what it brings is a lie.
