afraid below games grave guys last losing reality seemed
I was afraid of last place, ... There were a lot of fears. Below .500 -- I never thought I'd see that here. Then, losing 100 games seemed like a possibility, then 90 games. All of those things could have been a reality here. The grave seemed like a reality here, but the guys didn't let it happen.
corner guy ruled saw strike
I thought the guy was out. Saw a strike on the corner that was not ruled a strike.
compare fastball guy hank hit quick
I see a guy with a quick bat. I don't see the end here. I compare the guy with Hank Aaron, who could hit a fastball to the end.
bonds bring good guys shown
We had injuries, Bonds and (Armando) Benitez. To this day, Bonds hasn't shown up. And a lot of guys didn't have a good season. So you bring up the young guys.
believe care guy outing particular
That's the way it is. I don't believe one particular outing is going to make a difference. He's the kind of guy who doesn't really care who's on the other side.
barry feeling good guy knew knowing
To see Barry here, knowing he's going to go back to the same guy ... you never knew if he was going to ever play again. It's a good feeling for the guys.
feels guy time
Usually when a guy feels like that, it's time to think about retirement.
ball charged coming guy hard lose signed throwing time
We're going to take our time with him. It's really hard to lose Noah, a young guy who was really coming up big. He just signed a long-term contract. He was really charged up and throwing the ball well.
few guy hit home walk wants
We always have big rallies when they walk (Bonds), even before Mo was here. The only thing is, the guy wants to hit a few home runs.
action expect falling guys
He was really tired. I don't expect him to play. Also, this outfield, you see young guys slipping and falling on the grass. I believe, all things considered, No. 25 won't see any action tomorrow.
affect affected barry bat believe guy main veteran
I don't believe it will affect this veteran team. The main guy is Barry and if he does his thing with the bat and is not affected by it, I don't think we'll be.
base fell guy hits short stopping striking worked
He can really pitch. This is a guy who two years ago bounced a lot of fastballs that fell short of the target. He has worked hard. ... Today, he is right there striking out people, stopping rallies, fielding his position, getting base hits and challenging hitters.
breaking bullpen guys mph type
He could be a lot like Scott Eyre, ... He has the same type of breaking ball, a 92 to 93 mph fastball. You don't see too many bullpen guys like that.
confidence guys help knows team turn
He knows we like him a lot and we have confidence in him. He's not here to turn the team or anything. We have other guys to do that. He's here to help us.
