Larry Edward Cokeris an American football coach and former player. From 2001 to 2006, Coker served as the head coach at the University of Miami. His 2001 Miami team was named the consensus national champion after an undefeated season that culminated with a victory in the Rose Bowl over Nebraska. Guys really stepped up and carried the load. This is a no-excuses program. We lost one commitment. You'd like to have a full contingent of coaches, but no complaints. Just go get the job done and that's what we did.

These guys need to play. (The coaches) have done about all we can do. These guys need to get on the field and get tested Monday.

First day, a lot of enthusiasm, guys running around and having a lot of fun. And enthusiasm with the coaches. There's a lot of teaching going on. A great start today.
body covering good great guy pleasantly smaller surprised switching
I've been pleasantly surprised with him. He's done a great job. I thought he could be a good player, but the way he handles his body ... he's a big guy and he's out there switching his hips, being able to maneuver, covering smaller receivers. I've been very impressed.

I don't think we have slipped talent-wise. I think we're talented enough to play with anybody. But I do sense our guys are not happy, not satisfied, and they shouldn't be, with last season. There really was some embarrassment there for all of us. No doubt, there is a sense of urgency. We need to go out with excitement, with hunger, every week. We had that at times last season, but not all the time. I guess you could point the finger at me, but we did not play with consistency.

You've got to have talent. We have talent. The thing I like about it is I like the attitude. These guys are hungry. They're a smart group of kids and I really just see kind of an eye of the tiger.

There's obviously a lot of distraction. I can't say there's not. A lot of the guys are without power, certainly the coaches are without power, a lot of those things. But they've dealt with it pretty well, practiced pretty good the last couple of days. Guys have been here and gone to work.

Guys weren't really sure how to do it. I liked it. It was fun and I didn't break anything.

There's no question our guys were not satisfied with last season. There was some embarrassment there. You could say there is a sense of urgency on this team.

You can't take everybody, for whatever reason, be it you're loaded at that position or whatever it might be. They've got players who could play for about anybody. That's the thing that you see, that they have talent. That's Florida.

They're having fun, ... There's a lot more enthusiasm. They're playing well. They're enjoying playing well together. They're just having fun together.
