teams
Sure, we had a lot of injuries. But a lot of teams have injuries. We can't use it as an excuse.
bobby gone resilient team
Obviously, Bobby is a very important part of the team. Fortunately, we have Marco. If we didn't, it would be even more disappointing. As it is, it will be tough, but that's the way it was dealt. ... We have a very resilient team and we've gone through a lot. We'll do what we can.
bats figure genius swinging team
I try to figure this team out, and if I could, I'd be a genius. We're all swinging the bats well at the same time, or we're all not swinging the bats well at the same time.
either figure genius guy matter stay swinging team time worst
If I could figure this team out, I would be a genius. We're all either swinging it well at the same time or we're all not. Hopefully, we'll stay like this for a while. It doesn't matter who is pitching. You could have Cy Young out there or the worst guy in the league, it doesn't matter.
caught everybody good knows team totally turned weird
I was totally caught off guard. I was very surprised. It's good. He knows everybody on team and everybody is comfortable with him. It's weird how it turned out, but I think everybody's happy. It's good to have Mach.
dugout everybody gets gotten hits job saying
Everybody in the dugout was saying they shouldn't have done that. We've gotten a lot of big hits from him. When he gets up there we know he'll get the job done.
job key last nice sure three wants
He's done a nice job. I'm not sure what he wants to do, that's one of the key things, but the last three years, look at our record.
amazing drop electric good knows run seen sit stuff throwing tough
He has electric stuff. Having electric stuff is one thing, but he knows how to use it. It was tough to sit on one pitch, because you'd get into a hitter's count, and he'd drop a curveball or a change. And he's throwing fastballs 97, 98, 99 with pretty amazing run to it. That's as good a stuff as we've seen all year.
credit played playing realized wrong
He never faulted us once for not playing hard, and that would have been wrong if he did. We always played hard. We were just terrible. That's a credit to him that he realized that and never faulted us.
coming doubts knew
I never had any doubts about coming back. I knew I could come back and play,
excited feels good looks second spring telling
He's been telling us all spring he feels great. That second at-bat, that's what he's all about. You could tell he was excited . . . and he looks good in our uniform.
coming guys last second somebody spring time ton training year
Any time somebody has a first year with a team, you have spring training but the second year coming back you're more comfortable with the guys. We didn't have a ton of turnover. We have some new guys but we pretty much have the same guys as last year.
coming definitely huge injury league major motivated nice serious somebody
I don't think they had huge expectations for me coming into the season, ... That's all right because I had a serious injury and this is a major league team. They have to put somebody out there who's going to perform. I was pretty motivated anyway. I was definitely motivated to come out and have a nice year.
bobby great guys hurt last stepped year
He's very valuable. When I got hurt he stepped in and did a great job. Last year when Bobby got hurt he did a great job. You have to have guys like that on the team.
