I've been trying to work on my whole game, baseline and serve. You have to have a serve to be able to survive today and we'll see if I can bring it on.
Probably I was a little more determined, even more hungry.
I've played a lot of tennis this week and I'm not used to that.
Toward the end I just don't want to remember the other finals I played here and lost in the second set.
They're such survivors. I'm sure they're gonna bounce back.
Although losing against Kim today, it just still gives me so much to look forward to because it was a tight match at the end.
You can't just think they're going to miss. You have to earn your points, you have to make them, you know, do the mistakes.... Sometimes, in the past, it was enough to just wait, wait for your chances.
You can't hide. Sooner or later I have to play a top 10 player, better sooner than later. Win or lose, you know where you're at.
You still hope, you know? I mean, I thought it might be out, but it was a very close call, so you can. Maybe something happens.
You pretty much get through, get it done.
This is definitely one of the more relieving matches I've had. Making the last eight coming into this event, I would have never thought I got that far. Now here I am.
Once you've been the best ... there are no seconds. But I just want to play, see where I'm at and that's pretty much it.
Now I look at it differently because I'm a little older - I don't take it for granted anymore. When you're 17, 18, you think it's ongoing, but it's not. Now I know it. I try to do everything possible to not get any injuries. Be more disciplined.
Definitely anticipation has always been a very big part of my game -- to know and read my opponent -- but it's not easy. Even if I play a Grand Slam, I play girls I don't know, so I have to adapt very quickly.
