battling easier few good guys numbers players positions start stretching work
We're getting down to a few numbers where we can work it a little easier and not try to get everyone in. We want to start stretching out our players and take a good look at some of these guys that are battling each other and battling for positions on this team.
balls bats definitely few good hit night runs seven shut swing tail three
Three runs in seven innings, that's pretty good pitching, really. He pitched his tail off. Hernandez just pitched better. We didn't swing the bats well tonight. We hit a few balls hard. He definitely shut us down. It was a disappointing night for us.
behind bit exactly good guy location normally perfect seen stuff
We know he's the one guy who's a little bit behind where he would normally be. No excuses. He had good stuff tonight, but he's not exactly perfect right now with his location and as good as we've seen him.
against baseball contending four good stand standing teams tough
We made a good stand here against some very good baseball teams. We're .500 against four teams that are all going to be contending for the playoffs. We're standing at .500 here after a tough start, and we've really battled back to get to .500. And you know what, that's not bad.
certain inventing start
When your infielder can't go out and play, you get a little nervous. You start to look around and inventing things on how you could get through it if certain things happen.
couple pitches talking
When he got in a couple of jams, he made some pitches when he had to. But he pitched, and that's what we've been talking about. It's something that he's learned, to not overthrow, and now he's just pitching.
clubhouse greatest leader trying
We were trying to get him to come back into the clubhouse where he was the greatest leader I've ever seen. He wanted to do it.
mess
We're not going to mess with it. He's pitched enough.
angle asked believes general help hitters impressive manager nice watch whether
Whether the general manager believes that he can help me out of my pen, I haven't asked yet. That was impressive to me to watch him come right at the hitters with a nice angle to the ball.
pride whatever win
We're going to do whatever we can to try to win games. So pride can go out the window.
defensive guys instead men mode offensive position scoring
When we get men into scoring position or on base, it's like we go into defensive mode instead of offensive mode. I don't know how to get guys out of it.
call
What he should do is call me. Not you.
hit messing start
We're doing fine. I'm not going to start messing around with guys' brains. In time, he'll hit cleanup. We've said that before.
