yankees red comparison
There's no comparison to me. There's nothing like Yankees- Red Sox to me.
baby jobs real
I view it as a real competition. We're in a business where, you know what, there's no babies here. You go out, win the job and take it. I've been told by management, for the most part, that we're going to play the best people. Obviously, you've got to consider stuff like contracts - that's a reality of the game. But still, when it gets down to it, we're going to try and pick the guy that deserves to win the job.
We can use a little jolt or whatever,
people teams thinking trying win
I'm not thinking about other teams or what people think about what we're doing, ... I'm just trying to win games.
advantage arm bottom intimidate line strength throwing totally trying
We're not trying to go out and totally intimidate anybody. The bottom line is, we do have arm strength, and that's to your advantage in some ways. The key, really, is throwing strikes.
hard impress trying
He was trying too hard to impress us. He was overthrowing.
kid spot
It doesn't make sense to give a young kid like Hernandez an old man's spot like that this early.
coming guys perfect time today worked
That was something that I usually like to do periodically, but today was a perfect time to do it. I always like to let guys know where I'm coming from and what I expect. It worked out good, because if we were on the field, we probably wouldn't have had it.
best looking might pick series spots time
If you go into a series always looking for him to show you something, he might show you. I go with what I feel at the time. I'm going to pick my spots and do what I think is best at the time and live with it.
best bring nice option spring
He's having a nice little spring down at Triple-A. Right now, we feel like he's the best option for us. We'll bring him up and get him started.
best early good hitters longer strong trend wait
Everyone is strong early in the season. I think it's best to wait a little longer and see if the trend sticks. I just think some good hitters are off to some good starts.
best expect hitters seen
He's one of the best hitters in baseball. I've seen him for a long time. This is what I expect from him.
best care fit later physically year
If you're physically fit and take care of yourself, you should be better later in your career. I had my best year before I retired.
good hopefully shows
That was good to see, ... It was just one time, but hopefully that shows him he can get up in there.
