pitching unlike year
From a pitching standpoint, I'd like to see him get down there and get back on the horse, see him getting the ball. It's been unlike any year he has ever had in professional baseball. He's had to make a lot of decisions.
baseball compare happy injury trouble
I'd be happy if someone said he could come back by May 1. The trouble is, there is nothing in baseball to compare this injury to.
compared proud
I am real proud of where we are as an organization compared to where we were.
excited good news
We got as good of news as we could expect. We're excited about it.
hope pitches
You hope he pitches well enough to make us keep him.
arm bat guys rally shot swinging
To get him back, he's been a real shot in the arm for us. He's swinging the bat well and the guys really rally around him.
guys stay track trust
With guys like Brad, they're going to trust their track record. They're going to get there if you stay with them.
pass realize records track
You have to realize that a lot of years have to pass before the track records and resumes make you feel real comfortable so it's not a given.
fortunate games hit scrap though tonight walks win
We were fortunate tonight with all the walks and the hit batter. We had to scrap to get through it, but those are the games you like to win even though there were some things we could have done better.
saw velocity worth
We didn't like what we saw from (Young). In warmups, he didn't look like we had it. His velocity was down, and it wasn't worth the risk.
plenty score
We had plenty of opportunities to score 10 or 11 runs.
broken changes dreams feelings game given guys hearts human iq last normal seen series wins year
We had our hearts broken last year, and this year we've seen our off-season dreams of a World Series erode and go away, ... It's normal human feelings to be disappointed. In this game your IQ changes with wins and losses, and right now we're not real smart. But the guys are competing. We haven't given up.
damage helping tough walked
We walked too many people. That was the difference. That's a tough lineup. They can do enough damage without us helping them.
both fast guys high threw wish worked
Both guys worked fast and threw strikes, ... You know we have high expectations of them just like they do. I wish we could get them each a win.
