Definitely by training camp I'll be out there getting ready to have a great season. No concern whatsoever.
The more time we have together the more you get that ESP deal going.
It's just part of the process. It's not unusual; it happens all the time. Trust me, none of the guys on the team are worried about it.
I just got a little tweaked ankle. No big deal at all.
I'm relieved that it's over. But I guess it's a bittersweet kind of deal. Doug and I both wanted it. ... I'm excited, but I know how much work we have ahead of us. I know how much improvement I have to make for us to be where we want to be.
I think the penalties were down and I think the tempo was much better, ... We went no huddle for the majority of the game and that provides tempo and rhythm for us. Once you start getting a few first downs, you are able to really get going.
Sometimes you get in those situations, you try to do too much, try to say, 'I'm the guy who has to make every play and it's my responsibility to do everything,' which it's not,
I felt comfortable. But it wasn't my best day. I wasn't perfect and I wish I had thrown the ball a little bit better.
They guess right at times and we put ourselves in bad situations with second-and-longs and third-and-longs. We had guys coming through the line (unabated). LT got hit in the backfield a couple of times.
This entire program, from stock market investing to business ethics, has been awesome. I think it's important to step away from football and explore other interests, whatever they may be. For me, I have a strong interest in business, and this has truly exceeded my expectations.
I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.
The guy on the other side is not too shabby,
It's my job to get us in good plays, or more importantly, out of bad plays, ... That's what I did.
That's all right. He made some nice grabs for me. Can't complain. What is it, maybe his second drop of the season? I'll let it slide. Just this time.
