Frank Mitchell Beameris a retired American college football coach, most notably for the Virginia Tech Hokies, and former college football player. Beamer was a cornerback for Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1968. His coaching experience began in 1972, and from 1981 to 1986 Beamer served as the head football coach at Murray State University. I think sometimes you're a better program than people realize you are. And I think that might be Louisville's case. I mean in the last three years they have won 29 games. They're for real. I think this team can play with anyone.

I don't mind saying it. Probably the biggest holdup right now is my assistant coaches. I feel strongly I've got a great staff. If you look at Bryan Stinespring and Bud Foster and Jim Cavanaugh, and I could go on down the line. If you see what they mean to this program, then they need to be paid well.

I think we're going to have to change how we do that. Great offensive linemen are hard to find and can be hard to sign, but you need them. You can't just count on finding them anymore.

I think we have good coaches and good players in this state. We've really made an effort to re- cruit well in the state. I think the records would show that we have, particularly in the last few years. You look at our roster and it is further proof that we are winning with a lot of Virginia kids.

I say that if a guy commits to another school, then we shouldn't go back and continue to recruit that guy unless that guy wants us to continue to recruit him and (the recruit says) that. If they say that, then I think you've got to continue to recruit them. That's my whole deal on things.
