I told him, I didn't have to prepare for anything like a normal rookie, because I never prepared, never had to think about it. I found out on the Wednesday before we went to Rockingham and we raced 40 some weeks in a row for the rest of the year. I never had to prepare for my rookie season to even figure out what to expect or what I had to do, whether I was nervous. I didn't know how much money I was making. I didn't know how many races I had to go to, I didn't have a contract. I didn't care.
First off, it's a great way to get some race practice in before qualifying and the big one the next weekend,
We've kind of agreed to sit down in April and just kind of evaluate where things are.
We have talked. I know the ball is pretty much on that side.
We feel really good coming in here, but you still have to have a little bit of luck.
You go in there trying to be aggressive and trying to be the one who makes something happen instead of being in the middle of somebody else's mess. You have to try and be at the forefront of what's going on. Usually the aggressor comes out at the good end.
We just have to put 10 more weeks together and get it going for next year. Everybody wanted to be in it, but we gave it everything we had and we'll just keep trying.
We had a really good car the first half of the race,
We're greedy and we don't like to finish second.
Everybody got a taste of success and everybody wants to keep elevating that to the next level.
The room inside is definitely the biggest plus of the car. Your head is not anywhere near the (roll) bars, like it's sitting against the bars in the other (current) cars.
In life in general, you're never bulletproof, about the time you start thinking that, I always tell people, the karma train will come run you over.
