I'm not saying I'm something special. I might play a little better tennis than other people, but it is because I was given the chance, and not many people are.
I feel a quarter Indian.
I've been on top longer and I am younger. I'm just better.
Playing (Serena) it always felt like playing a steamroller. No subtlety, no finesse, just raw, loud power. To respect this style of play was always a bit tough for me, but of course I had to, because the rules of tennis dont state that having a beautiful game is required to become No. 1.
What rivalry? I win all the matches.
I was always at peace because of the way my mom treated me.
Her biggest strength is she serves well and is mentally tough. I've always said I wanted to play her and now I'll get my chance.
For sure since 4-1 I started to play better. All these chances I had and games I could have won, she won anyway. You've got to have the stamina.
If I want to play the tennis I played three years ago, I would not survive. I know that. You have to grow with the game and you have to get better physically and with your tennis. I've been trying to work on my whole game, baseline and serve. You have to have a serve to be able to survive today.
I can be proud. You just can't think you're going to go out there and win everything. I lost only 6-4 in the third against the No. 1 player, so I don't think it's that bad. You think I'm going to give up right now?
It's my rookie season, so I'm really enjoying every minute of it, ... I'm very happy to be in the championship.
Everybody has always been asking me which player you want to play and I always said 'Maria,' because I've never played her and she's a great champion, she has won Wimbledon at such a young age.
I told her that if you played like that all the time, she would have won a Grand Slam already.
I tried a lot of things, but she always had a better answer. I had to take a lot of risks and started making errors because she was putting too much pressure on me.
