Slowly but surely, I'm getting into it and finding my form. I trained really hard coming into these tournaments.
The first three games it was a little chilly out, but after that it got a little better.
I think winning the first game showed her that I am here and I am prepared, and that she has to earn her points. It was really important to have won that first game.
It is not a comeback anymore. I am here now and this is my fifth tournament. I have shown that I can still play. I don't look at it as a comeback anymore. It is more like the second part of my career now.
I was always saying when I came back if I could play her, and tomorrow, the day has arrived.
I was a little nervous. I'd like to thank my family and friends for supporting me.
I was a little nervous going into the match. She pushed me right away but I was able to adjust to where she was serving and my reaction got better. Thank god I still have those skills.
It was a tough match in the beginning. But I was very focused and concentrated.
It's really great to be back after all this time. I have very nice memories because I was the first female player to win the title here (in 2001). Hopefully these memories will inspire me and it will be a good week for me in this great event. I was always impressed with the modernity of Dubai and all that it has to offer.
After three years off you can't expect to step out and win every match.
